Southern Enduro Tour Rules:

Mission: Southern Enduro Tour strives to create amazing races in a great atmosphere while experiencing the best trails logistically possible. It will crown the most complete all-around rider: Loads of skill, speed, power, endurance, trail ability, and of course a love for going fast. We want everyone to finish each event and push themselves to new places while riding within their ability; providing ample support and time to do so. Our goal is to keep spirits high and the focus on what enduro is all about… camaraderie mixed with competitive fun on mountain bikes!

Series Overall: The Tour Overall is the best 4 of 5 Results. You must complete 3 races to qualify for an overall position and series award.

Rule #1 DON’T be a jerk, ever. Treat everyone with respect, especially the volunteers, spectators, and communities who graciously take part in our events.

Rule #2 Don’t ever liter for any reason. The trails are our home, take care of them! Other rules below.

Course Cutting: The goal of a race is NOT to find the sneakiest line, the local line, chop a corner, or to take short cuts in order to gain an advantage. It can both damage the environment and bring down the spirit of enduro. Therefore, any rider trying to save time by choosing a line that lies outside of the defined trail will be disqualified.

The race organizer may choose at his or her discretion not to DSQ a rider if it is reasonably determined the racer unintentionally deviated from the defined course. A time penalty will be imposed in this circumstance. However, any rider leaving the obvious race line must be aware that they are at risk for DISQUALIFICATION.

This rule also applies to all parts of the race including transitions or any defined course layout.

Outside Assistance: Racers are encouraged to help fellow competitors on the course. Any competitor receiving outside assistance from a non-racer without prior agreement from the race organizer will be disqualified. This includes using team staff and any type of outside help to carry equipment or perform repairs during the race.

Any rule violations must be registered with the Race Organizer within 30 minutes of the last competitor finishing the final stage.

Equipment: Racing will take place on the same bike, wheels, tires, etc. for each day of racing (no changing from stage to stage). The only allowed equipment change is tires and this equipment change may not occur after stage 1 has begun. Official race director must approve exceptions. *Exceptions are flatting, repairing, or replacement of tires. We recommend running strong tires, wheels and equipment that is reliable.

RE-RUNS: Are not allowed! Wrecks, flats, wheel tacos, broken chain, derailleur, ANY type of mechanical issue, or rider error do not count for a re-run. ONLY rider impediment, hazard, or injury support can allow a re-run after official race organizer approval. PLEASE, always stop for an injured rider. Any unapproved re-runs, either intentional or unintentional, will result in a disqualification.

All other instances, violations, or judgments will be handled in a per-case bases.

These are current rules: Rules are subject at any time per the official race organizer. Racers will be notified. Every event will have a pre-race meeting to address race specifics and any changes to race rules.
